Ibn Haviv, Jacob (Habib)
(?1445-1515/16)
   Spanish rabbinic scholar. He was born in Zamora in Castile, and became head of a yeshivah in Salamanca. When the Jews were expelled from Spain in 1492, he went to Portugal and later settled in Salonica, where he was one of the leading scholars. His En Yaakov is a compilation of aggadic sections of the Palestinian and Babylonian Talmuds.
